Does my zoning allow machines?
Under Sec. 14-129, no license is granted unless the premises are "located within an area zoned as CB" (Lilburn ordinance). Confirm your parcel's zoning with the city before you plan anything else.
What is the machine limit in Lilburn?
Six. Sec. 14-138 says no amusement game room "shall offer to the public more than six (6)" machines offering non-cash redemption at the same location (Lilburn ordinance).
How far from a church or school?
Sec. 14-137 bars a game room in or within 100 yards of a church building, or within 200 yards of school grounds. Distance is measured along the most direct route of travel on the ground (Lilburn ordinance). Your application has to include written confirmation from the city's director of planning and economic development that you meet these distances.
A church or school that opens later doesn't stop an existing license from continuing or renewing, though the use can't restart after a 12-month gap unless it meets the rule.
How do I get the city license?
You need an amusement game room license for each location, and an occupation tax certificate. The application goes to the City Manager or a designee, with proof of your state location license. The city charges no fee for the game room license, and it runs through December 31 (Lilburn ordinance).
What does this mean for my bar, restaurant or store?
- Everyone: an attendant aged 18 or older whenever you're open, a posted sign about the prize rules, and a monthly report of gross retail receipts to the city, due by the 20th (Lilburn ordinance).
- Stores near a school: nobody under 16 can be on the premises of a licensed location during school hours (Sec. 14-130). That reaches the whole business, so a convenience store should read it closely.
- Bars and restaurants: the city can suspend or revoke an alcohol license after a conviction under the state prize law (Sec. 14-142).

Machine spots are approximate. Sizes are averages from published cabinet specs, not your operator's machines. Cabinets vary by maker and model, and your operator will confirm the real footprint, power and placement before install.
- The shaded area in front of each machine is 36 inches deep, for a standing player or a stool. The walkway guide is 36 inches wide, the minimum width of an accessible route in the ADA standards (US Access Board). Both are planning guides, not legal requirements for your business.
- Local ordinances can require machines to be in plain view and accessible to anyone at the business. This tool can't judge sightlines. (O.C.G.A. § 50-27-86)
- Machines need power and a connection to the state's Central Accounting System, and that equipment has to stay connected and powered up. (GLC guide)
- Prizes are non-cash: replays, lottery products or gift cards. (GLC notice)
A planning sketch only. Your operator confirms what fits, and local rules and your license decide what's allowed.
